Hi, I’m Fathima, and I’ve lived with flat feet since childhood.
When I was young, my father took me to a foot specialist. My feet were measured, and special shoes were made for me to wear at school and at home. But understanding how my feet affect my everyday life has been a much longer journey.
Over the years, I’ve experienced foot pain, bunions, tight hamstrings and difficulties with balance. More recently, physiotherapy for my back and knees has become part of that story too.
Why I started this blog
I started Flat Foot Journey to share what living with flat feet feels like in everyday life—from uncomfortable standing and choosing shoes to exercise, treatment and the small changes I notice along the way.
I don’t have everything figured out. This blog is a place to share what I’ve tried, what has helped me and what I’m still learning.
What you’ll find here
You’ll find personal experiences, explanations of common foot-related topics, footwear research and accounts of my physiotherapy journey. I include reliable health sources to support the information I share.
When I mention shoes or other products, I make clear whether I’ve personally used them or researched them.
A note about health information
I’m not a healthcare professional. My experiences are my own, and something that helps me may not suit someone else. The information here is for general understanding and does not replace individual medical advice.
If you’re new here, Flat Feet Explained is a good place to begin. You can also explore my physiotherapy series for a closer look at my own experience.
